Her Majesty's Secret Servant
Party At Groucho's

One of the cool things about living in the Chicago area is getting to go out and play with all the James Bond fans in the area.
On December 9, 1997, the Ian Fleming Foundation held a fundraiser / booksigning smoker at Groucho's Bar in Chicago. Present were 007 author Raymond Benson, who is also a board member of the foundation; HMSS senior editor Doug Redenius, also an IFF board member; and HMSS senior staffers Tom Zielinski, James McMahon, and Paul Baack.
Herewith are a few snapshots of that fabulous evening...
Your genial host, Doug Redenius

Just a bunch of suburban white guys out for an evening's adventure.

Raymond Benson helps the HMSS staff interview a new secretary.

Dear Mom:
I got the job!

James McMahon,
thoroughly enjoying
himself.

Raymond and Tom, both of them non-smokers, pretend to enjoy their A. Fuentes cigars, while a cardboard Pierce Brosnan looks on with skepticism.

Raymond Benson, James Bond author and casting director. Here, he meets the real Sunni Pei.
Sunni tries on a whole new smile for the camera.

Paul proves the old adage that one martini is not enough, and two are too many. Seven of them is just insane!Doug and Tom congratulate themselves on their taste in double-breasted suits.
