Perhaps most people who are familiar with Agent 007 know him from the films, each actor presenting a somewhat different interpretation of James Bond. However, those who are unfamiliar with the Fleming books miss a literary Bond not portrayed in the cinema (to say nothing of missing the accuracy of the stories' plots). In the coming months, Her Majesty's Secret Servant will be posting a series of reviews of Fleming's books. Each review will present a summary of the plot and major characters plus a commentary on some aspect of the story. In addition, the review will describe the original hardcover publication.

The reviews are my observations of the stories and may not necessarily reflect the opinions other contributors to the web site. We hope these reviews may lead our visitors to reading the original stories.
